PCV Category D Automatic Bus and Coach Training
Get licence for the Automatic Bus Coach as it is easier to drive
It is easier as well as quicker to get trained to drive a vehicle with an automatic gear box than a vehicle fitted with manual gear box and hence you should opt for a licence for driving automatic bus.
There are numerous opportunities to work as a coach or a bus driver since for instance, all the National Express Coaches as well as the Red Buses of London are automatic.
Automatic bus training at Dhoot Driving School
Since the licence does not affect the kind of body of the vehicle, be it a saloon coach body or a single decker, or the number of seats, you can drive a double decker bus too with a licence you get from passing on a vehicle of single deck. The training vehicles we use are:
- Latest production models
- Include all the features listed in any modern passenger vehicle
- Easy to maneuver
- Represents vehicles that are in service
Demonstrating the access ramp for wheelchairs and the kneeling facility of Optare, is one of our trainers, Tom Moran. The XL2 Optare training vehicle for PCV Automatic Bus we use to train has:
- Dual doors with 10 meters long and 31 seats
- Built in good retarder along with a gear box that is fully automatic
- Powerful 230 Euro 3 BHP Mercedes engine with superb acceleration
- Television monitor and internal door
- Kneeling facility as well as a wheelchair ramp
We have specially chosen our training vehicles to ensure we meet the DSA test vehicle requirements fully. To keep up the high standard of performance the vehicles are regularly maintained at facilities that are approved by the manufacturers. Our training vehicles have the features as follows:
- ABS brakes
- Offers a smooth ride with high maneuvering power
- Less noise levels
- Comfortable position of driving and easily usable controls
- Perfect all round visibility along with assisted power steering
You should also know that when you pass the test for PCV Automatic Bus, if you already have a lorry licence, you would obtain the licence for unrestricted fully manual coach as well. And, when you get your licence for driving Automatic Bus, if you choose to acquire LGV C or HGV 2 licence as well, you would not only have upgraded your bus driving licence to an PCV licence for manual coach of all types but you would also be permitted to drive a truck weighing 32 tonne as well.
