PCV Category D Manual Coach Licence Training

When you pass the top PCV test on the manual gearbox coach, you must have the PCV licence and can drive the Passenger Carrying Vehicle regardless of the type of the body or the number of seats. All kinds of vehicles like service bus, single or double Decker, and saloon coach body, manual or automatic gear box and also the minibuses.

Top PCV licence will provide you with more job opportunities. However, it is seen that most people need more training if they acquire the PCV automatic gear box. But it also means greater cost.

So, if you are planning to drive the Red buses for the London Transport, since the buses are automatic, you can make it cheaper and also easier for you if you opt for the Automatic Bus training. You can of course come back later for the Manual coach training.

To upgrade from the Automatic Bus Licence, you would not need to re-sit for the theory tests, but just have to take the practical training and pass the DSA driving test.

If you want to take both the tests together, you must book the MC test first and then apply for the HP test. While the MC test lasts for 75 minutes, the HP test is for 40 minutes.
